Building BonkCore in the open.

BonkCore is built by one person, not a factory. This is the honest trail of what is done, what is on the bench right now, and what ships next. It updates as the work moves.

1. Done

   Hardware designed and printed in-house

   The BonkCore board and enclosure were designed from scratch, self-taught, and the first run of housings printed by hand.

2. Done

   BonkOS app core

   Live dash, plain-English fault-code reader, full-screen gear indicator, and a 7-day ride log, running on iOS and Android.

3. Done

   Secure accounts and admin tooling

   Passkey and Apple sign-in for riders, backed by an accounts system and an admin panel for running the operation.

4. Done

   Over-the-air firmware

   A signed OTA update pipeline, so units keep getting better after they ship instead of freezing at whatever shipped in the box.

   Founder batch validated on the CBR600RR

   BonkCore validated on the 2003-2020 Honda CBR600RR. The first production run is capped at 100 founder units.

   Assembling the founder batch

   Printing holders, assembling, and bench-testing each unit by hand ahead of the first shipping wave.

   Predictive alerts

   Building the charging-voltage, coolant, and sensor-noise trend models that flag a failing part before it strands you.

   Ship the founder batch

   Founder units are expected to ship in late August 2026, in validated waves as each batch clears testing.

   FCC / CE certification

   Required for wider retail of a Bluetooth device. In planning; status will be posted here and on the site once obtained.
