Privacy Policy

Bonk HQ (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates https://bonkhq.com, sells BonkCore, and publishes the BonkOS mobile app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have, both on this site and in the app.

Information we collect

• Contact information, including your name, email address, and phone number when you submit a form, place an order, ask for updates, or contact us.
• Motorcycle information, including year, make, model, and other compatibility details you provide so we can determine fitment and product interest.
• Order information, including order status, purchase history, refund requests, support history, and related customer-service records.
• Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card number.
• Technical information, including IP address, browser/device information, timestamps, and standard server or security logs. We are not currently using analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site tracking cookies.

The BonkOS mobile app

BonkOS is the companion app for BonkCore hardware. It collects the following, and nothing else. The app contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no cross-app tracking.

• Name and email address, collected when you create an account with Sign in with Apple or a passkey. Used to identify your account, sync your data across phones, and provide support. Linked to your account identity.
• Precise location (GPS), collected only while the app records a ride. Used to build your trip history: route path, distance, and elevation. Recording starts when your engine starts and ends when the ride ends. On Android, an ongoing notification is shown whenever ride recording is active.
• Vehicle telemetry, including engine RPM, speed, gear, coolant temperature, and battery voltage, received over Bluetooth from your BonkCore device. Used for the live dashboard, trip history, and diagnostics, and to monitor the health of your charging system.
• Device information, including your BonkCore's identifier and firmware version. Used for pairing, firmware updates, and support.

Where it is stored. Trips, telemetry, and settings are stored on your phone. If you sign in, they are also synced to our servers and associated with your account so they are available across phones. In guest mode nothing leaves your device: trips, pairing, and settings stay local, and we collect no account information.

Deleting your data. You can delete individual trips in the app at any time. To delete your account and all synced data, email data@bonkhq.com from the address on the account. Deleting the app while in guest mode removes all locally stored data.

How we collect information

We collect information directly from you through site forms, checkout flows, emails, and customer-support messages. Site form submissions are currently sent to our private Discord backend. We may later store and process the same information in a database hosted on cloud infrastructure, including an EC2-backed database.

How we use your information

• To process and manage orders, purchases, refunds, and support requests.
• To provide BonkOS app features, including trip history, diagnostics, and cross-device sync.
• To determine product compatibility and improve BonkCore and BonkOS.
• To contact you about your order, availability, shipping, and product updates.
• To send marketing emails or SMS messages when you have signed up or otherwise given permission. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
• To prevent fraud, abuse, spam, unauthorized access, or misuse of the site.
• To comply with legal, tax, accounting, safety, and recordkeeping obligations.

SMS and email marketing

We may offer email or text-message signups, discounts, and product updates. If you opt in, we may send marketing messages to the email address or phone number you provide. Message and data rates may apply for SMS. You can opt out by following unsubscribe instructions in the message or by emailing data@bonkhq.com.

Who we share information with

We do not currently sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the business, provide the product, or comply with law. This may include:

• Stripe or other payment processors for payments, refunds, fraud checks, and receipts.
• Discord for private internal form notifications and lead intake.
• Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers, including AWS or EC2-backed services.
• App stores and in-app purchase providers for BonkOS subscriptions and app distribution.
• Professional advisors, such as attorneys, accountants, insurers, or tax providers.
• Legal or safety recipients if required by law or needed to protect rights, safety, or security.

If we later decide to share personal information in materially different ways, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for consent.

International users

We are based in California, USA and sell worldwide. If you use the site or buy from us from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to manage orders, purchases, refunds, support, product compatibility, legal obligations, tax/accounting records, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed.

Your choices and rights

• You can ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you.
• You can opt out of marketing email or SMS messages.
• You can request a refund under our Refund Policy.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The site may be viewed by a general audience, but purchases and paid services are intended for people who can enter into a binding agreement or have permission from a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise stated.
